Il team Cram ha concluso a Monza la stagione 2016 dell’Italian F4 Championship, con il weekend senza dubbio migliore dal punto di vista velocistico. Sulla pista di casa, la squadra della famiglia Rosei ha festeggiato una strepitosa prima fila ottenuta in Q1 da Leonard Hoogenboom, a soli 79 millesimi dalla pole-position. Il pilota olandese ha poi ben figurato anche nella successiva Q2, cogliendo il nono tempo.
Hoogenboom, purtroppo, è stato sfortunato nella giornata di domenica, in cui non ha potuto concretizzare totalmente il potenziale espresso: in ogni caso, è arrivato un altro piazzamento in zona punti con l’ottavo posto di gara 2, riscattando le difficoltà incontrate nella prima manche. Il giovane driver proveniente dai Paesi Bassi era poi in lotta per la quinta posizione in gara 3, ma è stato costretto al ritiro dopo un contatto.
Il compagno di scuderia Manuel Maldonado ha concluso la sua prima annata in monoposto accumulando altri chilometri preziosi per il futuro, tagliando il traguardo in tutte e tre le manches, fino al 17esimo posto di gara 3.
Cram Motorsport concluded at Monza the 2016 campaign of the Italian F4 Championship, with undoubtedly its best weekend from a performance point of view. On the home track, the team ran by the Rosei family celebrated an astonishing first row taken in Q1 by Leonard Hoogenboom. The Dutch driver was at just 79 thousands from the pole-position and had also a good Q2 setting the ninth time.
Unfortunately, Hoogenboom had some bad luck on Sunday, when he couldn’t capitalize all his potential. Anyway, he took a new points finish with a eight place in race 2, with enabled him to bounce back after some troubles in race 1. The young Orange was then in contention for the fifth place in race 3, but he had to retire after a contact with another car.
Team mate Manuel Maldonado ended his first season in single-seaters covering further valuable kilometers. The Venezuelan driver crossed the line in all the three manches, with a 17th place in race 3 as best result.
