Race weekend Formula 4 at Adria
Primi punti F.4 per Cram
È andato in scena sul circuito di Adria il secondo appuntamento della stagione 2016 dell’Italian Formula 4 Championship, con il team Cram Motorsport che ha ottenuto il primo arrivo in zona punti dell’anno. Il merito va a Leonard Hoogenboom, riuscito a chiudere al decimo posto in gara 2 nella sfida tra i gruppi A e B. Il pilota olandese è stato protagonista di un’intensa lotta a metà a griglia, dopo essere partito 12esimo, riscattandosi dal ritiro subito in gara 1 a causa di un contatto.
Inserito nel gruppo C dopo le qualifiche, Manuel Maldonado ha invece disputato gara 1 e gara 3, riuscendo a raggiungere il traguardo in entrambe le occasioni. Il giovane venezuelano, cugino di Pastor ex portacolori in F1 di Williams e Lotus (nonché ex pilota Cram nelle stagioni 2003 e 2004), ha accumulato altri chilometri di esperienza con la finale di domenica pomeriggio, chiudendo 21esimo nello schieramento a pieni ranghi. 16esima posizione invece per Hoogenboom, che nel pieno della bagarre non è stato lontano da un altro ingresso a punti.
Il team Cram Motorsport spera quindi di compiere altri progressi in vista del prossimo round dell’Italian Formula 4 Championship, previsto a Imola nel weekend del 29 maggio.

The second round of the 2016 Italian F4 Championship took place at the Adria circuit this weekend. Leonard Hoogenboom 12th on the grid made by the A and B groups, the young Dutch ended race two in 10th place, showing himself as a strong contender in the middle of the pack. Hoogenboom had the best reaction after the contact which forced him to stop in race one.
Placed in the group C after the qualifying results, Manuel Maldonad took part in race one and race three, reaching the finish line in both. The Venezuelan, cousin of ex F1 driver Pastor (who raced for Cram too in 2003 and 2004 season), made up further mileage to gain experience in the Sunday evening final race, ending 21st against the complete cars roster. On his hand, Hoogenboom reached the 16th position, not so far from a new points finish.
Cram Motorsport team hopes now to make further steps forward in the next Italian F4 Championship weekend at Imola, scheduled on 28th and 29th of May.
