Cram sfiora la vittoria a Monza nel GT Italiano
Fine settimana impegnativo per il team Cram Motorsport, impegnato su due fronti a Monza nel Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo e a Navarra nella Formula 4 spagnola.
In Brianza, sulla pista di casa della squadra di Erba, Luca Segù e Daniel Vebster sono stati tra i protagonisti assoluti della classe GT Cup del Campionato Italiano GT al volante della Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo2 del team DL Racing.
Una bandiera rossa ha negato a Vebster la prima fila dello schieramento per gara 1, ma l’equipaggio si è riscattato grazie alla pole position messa a segno da Segù nel Q2, valido per l’assegnazione della griglia della seconda corsa.
Al via di gara 1 il pilota svedese ha subito un problema tecnico, con il motore della sua vettura che è andato in protezione a causa di un surriscaldamento delle temperature. Vebster è così precipitato in fondo alla griglia, ma grazie ad una splendida rimonta il duo ha chiuso in sesta posizione assoluta, quarta di classe.
Segù e Vebster hanno poi dominato gara 2, finché a meno di dieci minuti dal termine una safety car non ha ricompattato il gruppo. Alla ripartenza le Ferrari hanno potuto contare sulla propria velocità di punta maggiore per beffare la Huracan di Vebster, che ha così tagliato il traguardo terzo assoluto.
A Navarra, invece, Flavio Olivieri è stato autore di una promettente progressione nel corso del fine settimana, che era iniziato in salita. Il pilota romano, costretto al ritiro in gara 1 a causa di un contatto, è apparso decisamente più in palla nella giornata di domenica, chiudendo in 24esima e 17esima posizione le restanti due corse.

Cram inches close to victory in Italian GT at Monza
Cram Motorsport had a challenging weekend as the team was on track in two locations with the Italian GT Championship at Monza and in the Spanish Formula 4 Championship at Navarra.
On the home track of the Erba-based squad, Luca Segù and Daniel Vebster were among the main stars of the GT Cup class of the Italian GT Sprint Championship driving a Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 fielded by DL Racing.
In qualifying, a red flag prevented Vebster from achieving a front-row start in race 1, but the team bounced back with pole position in Q2, set by Segù for the second race.
At the start of race 1, the Swede suffered a technical problem, with his car’s engine temporarily going into protection mode due to overheating. Vebster plummeted to the back of the pack, but thanks to a splendid comeback the duo finished sixth overall, fourth in class.
Segù and Vebster then dominated race 2 until, with less than ten minutes to go, a safety car recompacted the pack. At the restart, the Ferraris were able to rely on their higher top speed to pass the Vebster-driven Lambo, who crossed the finish line third overall.
In Navarra, however, Flavio Olivieri delivered promising progression over the course of the weekend, which started in a challenging fashion. The Roman was forced to retire in race 1 due to contact but made impressive gains to finish race 2 and 3 in P24 and P17 respectively.
